Truth should be everpresent.
I use it for watering my chickens and horse. It's nice to have it there and the DGS play in it all summer.

That sounds like fun in the summertime.
This little creek near my home has not flooded either. My gkids love to skip rocks in it in once it thaws.

What wonderful pictures everyone! Wish I had something besides "cry speed" internet to see them and share some of my own. (if the threads are not too long and I am patient....)

The bog swamp pictures remind me of home here, where there are so many photo opts.

This is home for me.

Living in Michigan, of course we have the Great Lakes.

This one is from past March by the mighty Mackinaw Bridge. I loved the blue color of the ice. The water is that color int the summer.

We had gone to the Upper Peninsula that day to see the falls. I got some great falls shots, but I liked the hoar frost on the edge of the water. (about 10° that day)

Do any fishing there? I don't guess you have any gators?

Ha, no gators for sure. Pretty safe. We do have some monster snapping turtles though. Some would just fit int he bottom of a wheel barrow and the heads look like stumps in the water.

Yes, we fish, kayak, and love to sit on the deck and watch the wildlife. We walk in the woods every day. We learn something new about nature every day.

Those snapping turtles make a great soup. A pain in the hind end to clean but well worth the effort. Mmm

I can't get past their smell! They smell like the sewer.

From Puerto Vallarta this past Feb.

They smell wonderful after they are cooked. LOL A friend caught a huge one in her front yard for me yesterday. I have to go get it today, let it clean out a couple days and then clean it to eat. My inlaws and BIL will be arriving Saturday for a week long visit and she cooks a mean turtle soup. So we will let the meat chill in the fridge until then.
