Last year a sun flower grew from some bird seed that found its way into a pot outside on my back deck. What a gift it was to me and the bees. Even the gold finches loved it - they ate all the seeds!

One of my favorite plants is the peony; it produces armloads full of soft-ball sized flowers that we put in vases throughout the house. Their perfume reminds me of French milled soap. I only wish someone could hybridize one that could bloom all summer long.

No Flower thread would be complete without at least one rose.

The gardenia's perfume is my favorite fragrance in the garden.
