any possible combination prior to accepting an order.

INSURANCE is available on click-n-ship, if you want it. This is to protect Dawn from lost orders. We had a couple last time. If you don't purchase insurance, Dawn cannot replace your order, as this became quite costly for her last time. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

There is a $2 co-op fee added to all orders for the hosts for their time and trouble to organize and offer you this co-op with it's great savings for you.

I will be making a spreadsheet this year for you to check your orders. It will be color coded of course, I love a good color coded spreadsheet LOL, and when your order is final, I will mark it in FUCHSIA/PINK and you can send your payment.

Orders are turned in to EON as soon as I receive payment. There is a four to five day turn around from the time she receives your order until it is shipped out unless there is a problem and then you will be notified when to expect shipment.

I will finalize orders and will post your total, including shipping on the spreadsheet A link will be posted here for the spreadsheet

Your name and total will be highlighted in fucshia/pink when you are ok to pay. This will only be done after I know your payment method.

I will accept paypal and I will give you the total including the paypal fee if you want to use paypal.

Otherwise I will accept checks or money orders. PLEASE put your cubits name in the subject of your paypal payment. please put your cubits name on your check or money order. I can figure it out but it is so helpful to me if you just tell me.

I am looking forward to a fun co-op and lots of orders for Dawn. I love these markers myself and have over 1,000 of them in my garden. They are absolutely wonderful!! and this year it will be really colorful out there.

More than a year ago EON switched from pure zinc plates to a zinc coated
aluminum plate for all of the markers we manufacture. The new treatment
only covers the front of the plate and it is baked onto big coils of
aluminum at the factory and then cut into the 2 inch strips needed to make
the E-series plates. The coating is consistent for all plates and the
same ink and adhesive labels used on the zinc will adhere to the new
plates. The end product is much like an aluminum siding and will
withstand all the elements outdoors.

There were numerous reasons leading to the decision to change; increased
costs for zinc, limited availability and inconsistencies with the zinc
manufacturer, but more importantly when original zinc arrived it was in
untreated coils. We had to process each coil through an acid hot bath in
order to coat the material. The procedure was potentially harmful and
therefore could only be done at a remote location. By eliminating that
processing on site, we are saving in excess of 15 hour a week from what we
needed to do prior to cutting plates. Now we can empty a box and put
directly on the machines to begin cutting. Finally waste water disposal
(Environmental Patrol requirements) and chemical exposure concerns had us
looking at alternatives.

Going "green" has been an ongoing concern for EON and after testing the
aluminum for more than a year we decided to switch and we have found great
success. The new plates are exactly the same size and punched on the same
machine - actually the aluminum is a heavier gauge (.014 rather than the
zinc at .010) but is lighter in weight which also helps lower shipping
costs based on weights. EON is continually working to reduce it's carbon
footprint and we have taken pride in investigating the options.

During our transition we have gotten a great deal of positive feedback.
We have addressed a few concerns about the new material with all results
satisfactory. We'd be more than happy to discuss our new markers with
anyone interested in learning more. And as always, We are open to
suggestions and any feedback .

Marie, these are really high quality plant markers. They consist of a metal plate that you can either write on with a paint marker, or attach a weather-proof label to (I do labels on my Brother P-Touch labeler, using their industrial strength adhesive tape, and they still look new 2 years later!). They are pretty easy to store, as the label part comes bundled together instead of assembled. You write or label as desired, then insert the bent u-shaped wire, and insert it into the ground to whatever height you prefer. You can also re-use the wire part, and only replace the name plate, if you are using it for annuals or lose some plants. I have even placed a printed label overtop of a handwritten plate that faded to re-use the plate, too. Mine were the basic silver-colored zinc.

Very pleased with how they have stood up to the elements. Helpful hint, if using the paint marker, also put the plant name on the back of the label, because the front gets more sun exposure and fades faster. I actually wasn't impressed with the paint pen I got with the labels a few years ago. It faded to nearly illegible after the first year, despite its claims to be UV resistant and fade-proof. If I hadn't also labeled the back, I would have lost the name to several iris. An actual paint marker from Hobby Lobby (silver metallic) has lasted much better.

Anyway, I still have hundreds from my last order, but just wanted to answer Marie's question on what makes these so special. After having used these, I will never use another method of labeling for my perennials and bulbs! Attractive, reasonably priced, and good quality earn my loyalty any day.
