the spreadsheet updated 1/28/11

if you can think of another type of plant you want to add lmk. they are selling out fast and so i went ahead and had susan buy the clematis today. and the geraniums. all other plants will be bought ONLY IF i can sell enough to warrant the purchase so early sales will determine whether i add them or not.

all of their prestarted clematis were mostly sold out so i ordered bare root plants. they are coming from poland to walters and i will receive them bundled in groups of 10. they are classified as grade 1 plants and walters recommends planting grade 1 bare root in 1 gal. containers due to the roots being so long. also apparently the poles had a good year for clematis as walters reports this year's plants are bigger than usual. and i gleaned that that might mean they have multiple eyes or whatever clematis growth offshoots are called.

all of the clematis will be limited. and as i have never received bare root clematis i am not going to sell all i ordered. i plan on keeping a few of each aside in case i need to replace any that you order. as usual i am optimistic and if they all do well then i will have extras to sell after we see how they do. i am finding out now how to care for them. if orders go over the number i have set for each i will call walters to see about adding a few more but this may not be possible as they are selling out.

also in the mix are hardy geraniums. if there are other plants you are interested in lmk and we can add them if we need to.

i will cancel any variety that doesn't sell at the minimum i have set. especially on the geraniums. also if there are other clematis you are wanting then we might get them elsewhere since i want to hold bare root clematis to a minimum this first year. not all their clematis is bare root but if we go to the potted plants we have to buy 96 of them. the varieties below we could only get in bare root. prices include tags and patent fees if applicable.

there is a 2.00 order fee for this sale.

Clematis..........PRICE 5.25

Hardy Geranium......i will not buy all of these. i am off to talk to walters now and will buy any that are in danger of selling out. otherwise order what you want but this list will almost certainly be culled. so don't get your feelings hurt if i do cancel one or two. all of them are in 30 count trays except for rozanne which is in a 20 count tray. prices include tags and patent fees when applicable.

I'm interested in the Colocasia "Mojito". I'm confused about the trays. If i were to purchase, am i paying $4.50 x 20? Sorry for the stupid question. New to all this. Thanks!

dahos.......yes , each plant is 4.50.

wha.........we can add that one if enough are bought. but not enough have sold so far to add it. add it though if you like and we'll see where it goes.

i might have one out there anyway on purpurea plena. in the spring i will list all the plants i have in pots here.

susan........gaillardia arizona apricot is SOLD OUT.

so what i would like to do is 'tentatively" order both Daniel Deronda and 'Purpurea Plena Elegans'.

If 'Purpurea Plena Elegans' is not available i would have to cancel. I am placing another order for clems with an on-line retail source and with the flat box shipping rate two clems fit in the box (very big clems!). so i would want to fill the box.

let me know if this is ok.

yes it is fine to "tentatively" order. if we can sell at least 6 i will order any clematis. the only thing now is that i haven't reserved any but what is already showing so all will be subject to availability.

I would take one of each of those clematis if it helps any.

Dahos... wanted to further clarify about ordering trays in case you still had questions... the idea is that as a group we will purchase plants by the tray (eg, as a group we will have to get the total number of 'Mojito' plants to 20). You as an individual can order just one, or you can order up to however many currently remain "available" in the tray we are getting. If there's a lot of people wanting a plant, sometimes we end up ordering 2 trays as a group. HTH!

thanks critter. i should have said that. lol.

dahos i will say this. mojito won't even be ready till the end of april. so i would need a 2nd shipping for those. there is a good chance i will open an agristart sale in the near future. but in case i can't get mojito from agristart i have kept the walters plants for now.
