Oxalis will sometimes go dormant inside in winter even if you're watering and trying to keep it going in a sunny window... it likes a rest period. :-)

I've stopped growing oxalis because my cat won't stop trying to eat it -- and it gives him sores on his mouth. Yes, I can put it in hanging baskets... but every so often I'll have a pot down to soak in the sink or for some other reason, and if i don't stay on my toes, chomp chomp chomp.

I have 3 cats......

Thanks for the info.
IF it goes dormant, I'll know it's dormant and not dead and I'll put it out in spring.

critterg..........you got photos of your kitties? garden? i really do like cats but i do like to point out to susan the obvious superiority of the dog over the cat. it's just to keep susan grounded. that's all.

I don't think oxalis is especially attractive to kitties, but Eliot will eat any plant, even one loaded with oxalic acid crystals. I bet Susan's cats are smarter than that. LOL

at least jazzpurr doesn't dig the plants out to eat the roots. although jazzpurr is a rascal i can tell. or run thru your plants chasing a rabbit or squirrel. rosie is not real popular with jack this week. will she ever stop chewing? you know it is obvious when you ignore me. i can tell. and i take note.

I use this quote to fight back to the kitty dis you did on another thread, mamadon.

Susan, Jazzpurr is a WONderful cat name!
I never can think of good names. I just call them human names, mostly.

OK, why are more people not jumping in to order daffodils? This is a PERFECT time to order, because you know just where you were wishing you had a little more color & fragrance this spring.

I'll vouch for the quality of bulbs from ADR -- you're going to be amazed. Double and triple nosed, their bulbs are ready to give you twice as many blooms the following year. I spaced clumps of 5-6 bulbs 18" apart, and 4 years later it's pretty much solid daffodils in those beds.

The only reason I'm not putting in a huge order is that I'm organizing another group buy for our local mid-atlantic DG/ATP folks.

Who/what is ADR/website ? Well I didn't read the hardiness zone on the oxalis Sad So I better try and find my way back to the thread.

ADR is a wholesale company... their family farms grow bulbs in the Netherlands, and they get bulbs from other suppliers also. I'm not a retailer, but they let me purchase in wholesale quantities when I do group buys for our Mid-Atlantic group. MamaJ is offering some great bulbs at excellent prices in this sale!
