Not yet. I'll try to remember to go back and take some. She puts a stake near all the bushes, there's a large circle of perennials and a few annuals. Everything is so small that it seems to be a landscape of stakes only!

not many people are willing to tolerate little plants in their landscape. will you also be caring for them?

I check in on them once in a while, to give advice and add a thing or two. they've been watering with the gallon milk jug containers that I gave them, but the husband is putting an outdoor faucet for some hoses. Tracy is so excited about finally looking forward to some beautiful plants someday. She says the thought of these babies growing up is much more exciting than never having anything. I left them with some instruction and fertilizers and will remind her when it's time to attend to them. The children planted some seeds that I gave them. Not much germinated except for the very reliable nasturtium and they were THRILLED!! They are very interested in digging them in and getting rid of the weeds that come up around them. They are doing the best that they can. I told them not to be disappointed if some don't make it. I will always bring something from my garden that needs splitting. The Obedience Plant, Sunflowers, Daylilies, Daisies, Four O'clocks, Hellebores, Cleome, Cosmos and others will be finding their way from my garden to theirs soon.

first time I have logged in for awhile. I had to take Jim to the ER on Saturday afternoon and after 8 hours they sent him to the hospital. They think it is either heat exhaustion or a tick related issue. His blood pressure was dropping when he stood up by 30+ points. I swear if he had to stay very long he would have not made it. Totally depressed. He got to come home this morning, but he still isn't right imo. So I am now trying to do all the things that he did for me in the house and just the fact that he can't get outside and work is very troubling to him.

So I am saying all that to let you know that I haven't been on here hardly at all. and frankly am not very interested in doing so, right now.

He is still not walking right and I think he has gone deaf over night. Sad that is frustrating too. He says nothing tastes good and doesn't really want to eat. But he is forcing himself to. he is on doxycycline just in case the tick panel comes back positive. they also sent off four vials of culture but that takes 72 hours for it to grow or not. I am stressed out totally. He insists on trying to do stuff, and I can't stop him.

OK, I better quit going on about it.

this has been one hell of a summer. Crying

Oh, Susan, I'm really sorry that you two are going thru such a complicated ordeal!! I hope that things get straightened out soon. In the meantime, take deep breaths and (as my very spiritual cousin would say) "view your situation with a very positive ending so that you attract a positive outcome".

This is easier said than done, but, to my surprise, it very often gets the desired results with the least amount of stress. Last week my husband got rear ended on Route 80 in the fast lane. He tried to control the car so as not to hit any other cars while being thrown into another lane. The result was that he flipped over the barrier, tumbled upside down and remained there until help arrived. Because he's so tall and puts the back of his seat all the way down so that he can fit in the car, when the roof collapsed he did not break his neck because he was practically in a lying down position. All the while, he was confident that he'd get thru it!! My cousin would say "the Universe responded to his output of thoughts".. At this point, after I saw the car, I'll believe anything!!

Hang in there and see the future bright after some very tough current circumstances.

Barb, I met these neighbors when they started the "Stop the Dumping of Sludge in Upper Mount Bethel": The husband is genius in finding a new avenue to travel when our efforts run into a brick wall. We met this core group of "Sludge Free UMBT" people about 2 years ago and have been donating and working very hard with them to raise money for our legal fees. So far we've stopped the sludge dumping here while our appeal is in the courts, but if we lose we need to find another way. John, (the husband) supervises construction in New York City and volunteered to do some work around our house without pay. We refused his offer (without pay) so he bartered for my putting in gardens for his wife.

susan it's going to be ok. i love you. just do the essentials.

roses my heart was in my throat reading what you said. i am so glad your husband is ok.

and joyce i was surprised at orangeola's growth as well. that one branch that looks like it came from a different kind of tree...........i started to pull that out of the pot a week or so ago as i thought it was a mulberry tree. but when i got to looking i saw it was new growth. but now that i think on it............was that branch below the graft?

i got some new hydrangea. anyone who lost any of the following and would like to pay postage to get new plants let me know........
incrediball
gatsby star
blarney

all the other hydrangea were thriving here so those should be ok.

for those waiting on their first incrediball.........let me give them a few days before i ship. they look strong and just need to toughen up a little. might take a week. blarney being variegated has good foliage but has tiny tiny leaves and would like to see them put on new growth before i ship. gatsby star looks good even after i picked all the ugly leaves off this morning.

we are working in the yard today and will check back in later.
