A terrestrial orchid with folded leaves, to 3 feet long, and ovoid pseudobulbs. The flowers have reddish-brown petals, purplish red lips. Throats are silver on the inside, yellow and reddish on the outside. Numerous blooms appear on upright racemes in summer. Use terrestrial orchid potting mix in deep containers. Requires filtered light and high humidity in summer, full light and less water in winter.
