Australian shepherds are energetic dogs with strong herding and guarding instincts. Though they are often reserved with strangers, they are devoted to their families, always wanting to be near them. Aussies are animated, adaptable, and extremely agile. They live for their "job" so they do best in families where they are provided with a lot of activity and a sense of purpose. The breed is highly intelligent and versatile, doing well in competition for agility, obedience and herding. Their coats can be black, blue merle, red merle and red with or without white markings. |
