Perpetually happy!
For your dogs?

What would you give up?
Your life savings?
Your sanity?
Your freedom?

They are, after all, just like our kids, especially so for those of us that don't have human children. They depend on us to protect them and keep them safe. They need us.

How far would you go to do it?

I think DH and I would do whatever it took to keep our furkids safe and healthy.

Its funny... when we've been away a long time [in Feb/Mar we were away for 3 weeks]
we always joke how we miss our furkids more than we do our human kids.

Relax. It's only a small setback.
Everything reasonably possible to keep them healthy and happy. Their quality of life is the most important guiding factor for us.

The best part of taking a vacation is coming home to the frenzied dog reunion! We don't travel much, but we had a long weekend away in April and I remember looking at our lab thinking "I can't wait to see you again" and we weren't even leaving for days yet. Big Grin

We plan vacations around places that are pet friendly so our pooch gets to be with us 99.9 percent of the time. The only exceptions are work and family emergencies.

No kennels, if she can't stay home she stays with friends...who say we don't go anywhere often enough...and when we do they don't want to give her back when we return!

Bill and I no longer get to go ANYWHERE together unless a friend dog sits....not even for an hour! We are up to 5. #4 is a lab/chow mix. When we got her at about 8weeks she went everywher with us and the boys stayed home. The postmisterss did "doggie daycare" for her one day at the postoffice Rolling on the floor laughing gotta love small town living! By the time Onyx was old enough and potty trained so she could stay home with the boys for a few hours along came Dixie....a red nose pit. She was about a year we figured. Neighbor found her *supposedly* running the roads...his story changed a few times. Anyway, he deceided he didn't want her so Bill, after too many budweisers, said sure we'll take her. I was NOT a happy camper Angry We had JUST gotten to where we could go shopping without a dog in tow. Well within a week she had gone to the vet...shots and spay. We ran a hotwire around the acre+ dog run fence...the whole time trying to find a good home for her. That was two years ago and the little darlin' is a much loved family member. Life was a lot easier before Dixie in many ways, but I CAN'T imagine not being owned by her Rolling my eyes. This is Dix 10 days after we got her
