Some of you know me, some don't. I thought I'd come and post my worries. My Shadow (mini poodle) has not been feeling well this past week. He has some fluid in his lungs and a fever. The vet gave him some antibiotitics, but I can't give him his pills because he's not eating - and he has to take them with food. Sigh... The vet opens on Monday morning.

I'm sorry your little curly pal isn't well. It's the hardest thing when they're sick or injured. I will pull for the little fellow and you both, and hope he gets better soon.
Just a thought: have you tried tempting him with those little jars of pureed baby meat? That worked when our first dog was very absolutely uninterested in eating. I think a couple spoonfuls would suffice to be able to give his meds, unless the vet told you differently. Shredded cooked chicken?
Those are great ideas, Annie. I don't have either in the house, but I'm going out later and will pick some up. Shadow did finally eat late last night, so I'm glad about that, but, BOY, can that dog make me worry!
I was going to say that if he wouldn't eat I would give the pill anyway because in 24 hours he would feel better and begin eating again. My dog had pneumonia a few weeks ago and was not eating but I opened her mouth and popped the pills down her throat.
Hi everybody! I had to go out of town for four days and was worried sick about Shadow. I'm happy to say that he is back to his usual self. I took him hiking yesterday and he handled the steep slopes and rocks better than I did! Phew. He's such a love.
