Here you go stormy - I found Allison's post. Her 10' cosmos are annuals. She starts them from seed.

Thanks, Karen. Allison may actually be in a colder location than you are due to her elevation. She is just across the river on the Jersey side from our Pocono mountains. That is the coldest spot in NJ. She considers herself to be in zone 5 even though the map shows her to be zone 6. Are you in zone 6?

Well, I am officially in zone 6 too, but our winters are not as cold or as long as yours if your climate is somewhat similar to Pittsburgh or Youngstown.

I know Pittsburgh, I spent the first 25 years of my life there. In winter, we are usually a few degrees warmer than Pgh, but we don't usually get nearly as much snow. Most winters we do have a few short bouts of below zero temps. Our summers are hotter and far more humid. (My home is right near the Ohio River, about 2 miles from the Ky state line.)

Wow, then you really have extremes Karen. I can never remember a below zero temperature here ever. The lowest we normally go is to about 10. We might get 8 or 10 days like that all winter.

Honestly, sometimes even I wonder why I live here. Cold winters, sometimes pretty snowy but not always, hot humid summers. And in the 30 years since I've been here, plenty of tornadoes, a few earthquakes. Makes it sound inviting, doesn't it? Hilarious!

I was just over on DG doing some research. One of today's featured articles by Palmbob is about the Chocolate Mimosa.

Nice article - very pretty tree, especially when viewing it against those light colored Cacti.

Thanks for sharing it, Stormy. Smiling

Hilarious! Hilarious! A plant is one thing Chelle, but a neighbor invading tree is entirely another. Blinking But maybe that chocolate variety doesn't put out seedlings like the green ones do.

Feel free to call on me anytime, I owe you yet another one my dear!! Big Grin
