We need to get charlenesplants to chime in here, she has no problem rooting rose cuttings. Years ago we rooted a cutting of Veilchenblau of a friend and planted it in a shady area and it has done very well. Now we can't seem to root it again, not that we have tried real hard. I do love this rose and it's ability to tolerate a lot of shade.
