Two can (15 oz) mushroom bits and pieces (drain one can)
1 15 oz bag of shredded extra sharp chedar cheese
1 large onion cut into a 1/4 inch dice
2 tbs lemon juice
1 cup (or more) seasoned bread crumbs
2 tbls butter

In a saucepan add the two cans of mushrooms and the 2 tbs lemmon juice.
bring to a boil. remove from heat and put into a large bowl. In the same sauce pan add the butter and onions and cook over med high heat until the onions are translucent. remove from sauce pan and pour into bowl.with the mushrooms

Add the cup of bread crumbs to the bowl and mix well. the mixcture should be moist but not wet. If wet add more bread crumbs.

Take half the mixture and put into an oven proof bowl. add cheddar cheese so that it covers the mushrooms completely. Add the rest of the mushroom mixture on top of the cheddar chesse and then add the rest of the cheddar cheese.on top.

cove and put into a 350 deg oven and bake for 15 minutes or until until cheese is nice and bubbly. If you do not have a cover then cover tightly with aluminum foil

serve with crackers

i sometimes make it using only clams and sometimes i even du a combo with them. it's always a big hit with company.
