What a wonderful article, and great follow up pictures contributed by others. I see that talent runs in several families here. Pendleton Woolen Mills started about 90 miles from me. I toured their mill several years ago and remember that in the store part of the building, there was a huge box of scraps. They were in many colors, some plain, some plaid, and were sold by the pound. Below is a link to several pages where you might find a source. I hope it helps. http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&aq=9&oq=Pend... Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most. Mary...thank you so much! I hadn't even thought of the woolen mills. |

I haven't thoroughly explored the links. Hope you can find what you need. They might not have their scrap bin listed, but a phone call might get some results. Maybe there are woolen mills in your area? I remember poking through the bin at Pendleton and finding some good sized chunks that were parts of blankets but had a gap or bunched up threads, crooked edges, etc. Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
