Barb, I love your words and Ashley will love them too, Seems my closest friends are on line though our best friends here own the marina and are all involved in the wedding. One son drove from Los Angeles just to be here, so that means so much to Ashley and to me. But then there are a few locals still left who know her and my little family is driving the 400 miles to be here so that will be beautiful.
I have to go now to help with the decorating. She's leaving an empty chair with his picture for her Dad, he and she wanted so much to be here on her wedding day. But she's honored him with the picture and the chair and his best friend asked to give her away so that means a lot. It will be a wonderful wedding with friends and family and words from my online friends.
Thank you sp much Barb. Love to you for being such a longtime great friend.
Sending wishes for a wonderful day for Ashley and Matt. And special wishes for you Sharon. You have handled all the stress and all the requests of your time and energy with such grace. You are one special lady and all of us I'm sure share these thoughts. You will be ready for a rest.....Know that we are with you - that little breeze on your shoulder - sharing in your joy and thanking you for bringing us along on your journey......
Ben is not doing so good. He collapsed at church last week, didn't have the strength to make it to the pew using his walker. Then Wednesday he collapsed at physical therapy and the PT sent him to his Primary Care Physician Dr. Cain. Dr. Cain saw him Wednesday and saw him again Friday (I took the day off work to go with him).
On Friday Dr. Cain discussed the lab work and called Ben's cardiologist and talked to him. Set an appointment for Monday. I have taken Monday off work to go with him. I hope we know more Monday. Meanwhile, just kind of laying low and enjoying some extra time with Ben. When I know more, you'll know more.
It was wonderful, Barb and Moon. you can see a few pictures on the BG open chat thread. If you want to see Moon can give you a link that will take you to the posts from just yesterday and today, I think.
Pat, so worried, so sorry, so many prayers and good thoughts sent to you and Ben. Please do let us know as you know. Our hearts are with you.
Sending my prayers for Ben this morning and hoping answers are simple ones and problems are easily fixed.
So happy the wedding went off with the weather being good! Sharon you will need a well-deserved rest now!!!!
The wedding was wonderful, the weather and the lake were beautiful. It was like the clouds parted just over the wedding chapel on the lake and the late evening sun brightened everything. Of course my slightly straightened hair wilted and even with all the hair spray and whatever else the hired hairdresser used about 2 hours before the wedding was not exactly the right thing to do. Not her fault, it's the problem with my cranky curly hair.
Anyway, my brother and his family drove 400 miles from the mountains just for the wedding. I have only a tiny family and without them the bride would have had a lot of empty chairs, but they were there. And of course I was crying, so happy to see them, in every picture.
My brother walked me down the aisle and I thought you might like to see our picture. My brother is an awesome man and though we are miles apart and though he's 8 years younger and drove me crazy when we were growing up, if he even thinks I'm crying, he'll drive those miles and be here beside me if he even thinks I might need him. Best brother ever.
I have a few pictures of the chapel on the lake if you'd like to see them, I'll have to post them later. But here's my favorite and only great niece, my brother's granddaughter, my little 8 year old dancer and she stuck to me like glue. Beautiful child though I don't see her often, we text now that she can read and write. Her name is Macey. Barb and some of the rest of you who've read my Aunt Bett articles, I am Macey's Aunt Bett, though I can't teach her about mountain plants because I don't live there, she likes that I tell her stories about our mountains.
Here's my Macey.
