hey there - cold and drizzle ran me out of weeding today. Don't care, hands are still so sore. Such a wuss on the hand injuries.
Jaye, who's that in this photo? They look so very sweet.
Debbie, that's a great photo. container garden, maybe? Stunned you got tulips to bloom that far south. I can hardly get them going here. Guess I should have planted some this past fall, with all the cold and snow we had this year!
Well, Bonnie, I'll tell ya how I planted them all. These bulbs arrived from Bleek on October 21,2009 . I didn't put them in the refrigerator until November 13th. They stayed in refrigerator drawer from 11/13/09 until I planted them on February 7, 2010 85 days or 12 weeks. Then I put about 3" of MG into my pots, set the bulbs on the soil, covered them with about 2 more inches of MG and whala. I know, I know, I broke all the rules, but it worked great. If they had come up sooner than they did, they would have frozen. This was them on March 3
These are my little daffies.... their first Spring since transplanting. Have some tulips about 4" high, and my Sweet Woodruff is greening up in the front bed, but that's about it for now. Except my Amaryllis, but I have all those in the house.....
Name: Jaye or Sistah North Carolina, temporarily. Lord Jesus, He's all I need.
Thanks for the tips Debbie.
Tulips always failed to return the following year for me. I Love that Flaming Purrisima.
Beautiful container display!! Do you have more?
Bonnie, that's my Mum and 3rd younger sister, Maria.
I can't wait for the Amaryllis to start showing off Kathy-Kiz!
I just got a catalog from Brent & Beckys this week, they have lots of bulbs in there, and loverly tulips! I like the Parrot and the fringe-y ones... so different than the norm. I ordered my amaryllis from there, they send huge bulbs!
Here's a few that have already bloomed, got this first one from Mom, could be a Red Lion...
