Loved Nat King Cole. I have a couple of his songs on my MP player, guess I'll have to add that one to it. I take my music with me when I go out and pull weeds.
Pegi, sending prayers. I just discovered this and oh the stories I could tell you about Lupron and the hot flashes..all funny. Just worry when he ask to borrow your earrings.

Would love to hear your stories about Lupron, Marion. Well he is having hot flashes, wish I could add mine to his too. Well, if he wants to borrow my earings he'll have to get his ears pierced first.
Went to the urologist today for another shot. The PSA is very low, very good, and the doctor said he could choose to stop the shots and if PSA goes up he can start them again. It is a decision he has to make, and he is always looking at me for the answer. The cancer can get immune to shots too, there are other choices. Everyone is different, shots can go on as long as 6 years or short as 6 months.
Understand the situation about the shots. We went through the same thing. My husband did stop the shots and the PSA went high BUT everyone is different. Yes, the cancer can get immune to the shots. Things have progressed so much in the past years that there are more options now. Keeping you in my prayers.
Thank goodness I didn't have much trouble with hot flashes but on more than one occasion we would have to change the sheets with Ross. My very BF was on hormone therapy at the same time so they agreed to share: her earrings for his razor. When we would go out with them it could turn into an evening of laughter between the 2 of them and their quips. Good memories now. BTW, I have pierced ears also.

Thank you for prayers. Today he saw a surgeon for another matter, the gall bladder. They may not be able to use the 4 hole type surgery on him. He is missing the right kidney, due to cancer, and that might be a problem. Well, waiting again to see what doctors decide. That sense of humor really helps, in more ways than one.
You can't believe how lost I get now that I have 3 sites to visit.
No decision on continuing with Lupron shots. He just doesn't feel good most of the time. They couldn't remove the prostate because it had attached itself to some other body part, radiation for 42 days really solved the problem but after 5 years it appeared again. Still plans on gall bladder sugery whenever they decide to set it up. Don't like this waiting game, but can't do anything about it.
Pegi, from all we could find out when Ross was taking the Lupron, it was best to continue. I do realize things have changed in the past 7 years but isn't it a hormone that stops the growth of the testosterone? Testosterone encourages the cancer growth I think. Wishes and prayer for all the best. I certainly can understand what you are dealing with and I will be here!!!

Thank you Marion, I will pass this info on to Darwin, I would continue it if was me, but can't make that decision for him. We are both very bad about making any kind of decision. The doctor said the cancer feeds on the testosterone.
