Barefoot T----thunder----Patriotic- Reds, Whites, Blues the "rules" PLEASE make sure the fabric is 100% cotton If in doubt, don't use it Selvage edges should be cut off prior to cutting for blocks If you are concerned about the possibility of a color bleeding please pre wash it Do not use any spray starch on blocks, spray sizing is OK. You will make ONE ROW for each participant, and one for yourself Remember after you finish a project we want to see your results!! Please be sure to put your user name and real name on the ROW that you send . You can pin it on, or use a little sticky note. Address labels are great. you could also use a pigma pen carefully along a seam allowance... use any block design/s you want , to make your row...as long as it is within the recipients color choices / theme::: your rows can be multiples of the same block...or many different blocks rows must be close to 80'' in the end we will all have very lovely queen size tops It is your responsibility to be sure every one has the correct address for you. You may start mailing as soon as you finish a row. |

finally got patriotic rows completed....just a touch of trimming to do, and they will be out in the mail after next payday (Thursday)![]() |
That's beautiful Thunder! I had completed all of Judy's blocks, and just had to join them with sashings... Unfortunately, my machines went on strike! |
well I just finished the patriotics...still have to do Christmas, tigers, and blue,yellow.... My bad...very bad.....but in my defense...I do have lots of reasons...... Maybe she would be happy to put them together herself...just tell her how you want them to go... ![]() ![]() on the up side I at least have all the rows planned out...just need to make a few more fabric selections...and cut and sew.....the remaining blocks should all go well..... there is one I think will be a little tricky....but I think not too bad.....I hope.. ![]() could every one please chime in and let me know what you got....as I am thinking I missed some "checking off" on my list..... |
I was thinking of that too, if all else failed.. but then.. it's not fair to her. Kel kept saying Judy won't mind, as she loves me too much!! ![]() |
rows going in the mail for LK, and Barb....Have one for Marion also..... any body have the Florida address??? |
Thunder, she won't be home till March 1st. |
What I should have asked was...does anyone have her sisters address??? I decided I will just send it to her house, and it will be there waiting for her... I am working on...Janice, Jaye and Judy..... |
Wow.. the 3 Js!! And we all chose different patterns from the rest!! I just notice that!! Thunder, I don't think she gave her sister's address to anyone. Anway, Kim will be home to receive Maid M's mail. |
I got my row from Thunder! It is simply wonderful. Thank you so much Thunder....![]() And here is a close-up. ![]() |
those flags are missing some points ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
What points?? They look perfect to me ![]() |
thanks Jaye...butttttt.....the points on those flag blocks are very far from perfect.....I did decide however they certainly give the flags....character... ![]() ![]() ![]() |
I'm not having a problem with any of this Thunder. I love it. As far as points go, try to always press in an opposite direction so the seams butt against each other. Or if they are really bulky, I will press the seams open. And I PIN, PIN, PIN to hold the material where I want it to be..... |
Barb, there's this quilting teacher who doesn't pin! She said cotton stick to cotton, and there's no need to pin. And all her seams, points, edges turn out perfect. Guess that's how she was taught to sew. Errr..her class (me included) find it impossible to keep the ends or make perfect seams if we don't pin!!! My fabric has a tendency to stray! ![]() |
I usually do not pin at all....maybe I need to start doing some of that ![]() ![]() |
See me pinning? I'm a pinning.. pinning.. pinning away ![]() ![]() ![]() |
![]() ![]() |
I guess it is whatever works for each of us!!! I have no complaints with anything I've been honored to receive in a swap. I'm just happy to be a part of something bigger than I am!!!!! |
thanks Barb ![]() |
