You know, what's right for one isn't necessarily right for another. Right now you have to do what you feel is right for you.

I agree too Susan. You need this time to put your thoughts together and establish a strong base within yourself. Take it and do things that make YOU feel good.

Isn't it funny how we vascillate (sp) back and forth? All the people who who were in the block swaps and charity blocks that we sent to you - what happened to everyone? I miss that closeness I felt then. I wonder about all those who worked for the horse rescue place for Anjl1 and wonder how they all are doing...... Confused Confused

We don't seem to do any swaps any more at DG. At least not in the quilting threads. I'm thinking that Round Robin didn't go well and neither did the birdhouses. I'm still waiting for birdhouse blocks probably won't get them and I guess it's no biggie. But I know there was upset over the Round Robin. People started with a large center of their own so I can see why they are upset about it. Other threads have different swaps too and I just decided to stay out of them after getting burned a couple times.

Now we just chat and show what we're working on.

I've gotten my sewing table fixed, my sewing room back again (it was all blocked off with Loom pieces and I couldn't get to the table), Round Robins are partly done - have 3 to do, then off they go to the various people!
I am so sorry that I held everything up.......

you know how you trip over stuff all the time, when you're not using them, and the second you need 'em - you can't find it?
I'm looking for my rotary cutter.
As I said, I have 3 of the round robin blocks done, and I have 3 more - one of them is for 2 people who dropped out.

I'm nervous about getting this done, but get it done I am - TODAY!

I wasn't in that swap although I was sent a couple of the blocks. I used them in placemats that I gave to the senior citizens center.

How nice to "see" you again Cheryl. Is your home finished now? How did your sewing room turn out. I don't go to other threads too often but would love to see if you have photos. Your grandchildren must be getting really big now!!!

My sewing has been minimal this past year. I did participate in three BOMs but haven't finished any of the quilts. My long arm lady has been having issues with her machine so I will very patiently wait until she is happy with it again. Thought for this year, I would concentrate on small projects as well as some knitting and crochet. My neighbor has gotten me back into yarn work so I jump from one thing to another.....

That's awesome Cheryl, help develop their interest early. Even if they don't sew later, and it looks likely they will, they are getting interested in arts. Sure hoping someday I can have a larger sewing room again. I'm resisting unpacking boxes I packed when I thought we were sold before. Ever hopeful.

Their Mom never took to the sewing machine. I think she looked at it as work because its what I did to pay the bills Sad

What wonderful photos Cheryl!!! Your grands are just beautiful and like Karen says, they are learning the joys of the arts. I just love the space you have there.
My daughter has no interest either so I'm not sure what will become of all my "stuff". Who knows??? Your granddaughter's table is really nice. I'll bet she was thrilled. Thumbs up Thumbs up

I'm like you Barb, absolutely no idea who will want all my "stuff". I try not to think about it.

There is still hope Cheryl. My oldest daughter wanted a sewing machine as her graduation gift, got her a Bernina, and hardly ever used it. Her daughter does though sometimes.

Youngest daughter thought sewing was "boring" Then my mom gave her all her "stuff" and daughter took off sewing like crazy for several years. Now she is doing cakes and hasn't sewed a stitch.

I have a couple granddaughters and a grand in law that are mildly interested, so we'll see.
