| Amen Barb. We could be what we are here. I know people assume anonymity when they're online or put on false persona.. but here.. we express ourselves rather honestly knowing that no sistahs would judge. We can't give out true love, if we're not true to ourselves. Me too LK. Appreciate all you've done to keep us abreast on Mary and Dorothy. Susan, I use an old Adobe Photoshop. Let me tell you all about my day today. We had to go out of town this morning, and the 7 hour excursion was accompanied with pleasant weather (70*)... Lola was behaving.. Kel was agreeable.. Joann's great.. (thanks Karen), Hobby Lobby's sales were unbelievable.. Kel found some Lucinda Williams cds... even Checker's burgers were good. I should be happy right? Would you believe that all day, I had to suppress the urge to find fault with everything. You know.. when you have that nagging feeling something is not right but you can't pinpoint what? Ha! Don't ever ignore that nagging feeling sistahs. When you got that.. pray! Just pray!! I did.. each time I felt a knot in my stomach. Told the Lord to take that restless devil out, and if anything bad is supposed to happen, make it a lesser one. Just got a call this evening from my ex's nephew that my ex is in the hospital. He got into a bad wreck this afternoon. His car is totalled, so far, according to Jude, ex had bruises from the airbag. But the hospital is not releasing him yet. Will hold him for more observations. See.. proof right there... God listens to prayers. If I had not prayed during the trip.. it could have been worse for Harris. |

| Good morning sistahs! Thank you Barb. I'd be doing undercover work later to find out more on him. Jude says ex insists that I'm not told of the accident. Absolutely a must today... prayers go out to Dorothy, Mary and their families. Dorothy, you are a tireless proponent of diabetic awareness and always advising us on eating healthy. So this morning, we'll have your "Apricot Muffin".. Ingredients: •Crisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray •1 cup Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour •1/4 cup SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated •2 teaspoons baking powder •1/4 teaspoon salt •1 large egg •2 tablespoons Crisco® Pure Canola Oil •2 tablespoons skim milk •1/2 cup Smucker's® Sugar Free Apricot Preserves, plus additional for spreading on tops of muffins •1/4 teaspoon almond extract Directions: 1 HEAT oven to 350°F. Coat 6 muffin cups with no-stick spray. 2 COMBINE flour, SPLENDA® Granulated Sweetener, baking powder and salt in medium mixing bowl. 3 BEAT together egg, oil and milk. Blend in preserves and almond extract. Add to flour mixture and stir just until moistened. Fill muffin cups evenly with batter. 4 BAKE 20 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool. Spread tops with a thin layer of preserves before serving. TIP To prepare the night before, measure dry ingredients and cover. Combine egg, oil, milk and preserves as directed. Refrigerate. Mix together the next morning, adding the almond extract just before baking. Bake as directed.  |

| much love in the airwaves for Dorothy and her family. wishing strength to her sister, and daughters. If I could bake I would make those muffins , they sure sound delicious. My oven temperature never works correctly, it goes from not hot enough to way to hot....supposedly been fixed a few times. does not work.we have one of those table top broiler things, works for most of the baking hubs does, cooking a roast.......etc. but does not bake well.  Jaye, strange how those feelings work isn't it. Had similar happen to me yesterday, felt sorta "off". got a text from my Sailor, he was in an accident !! says he is fine, police officers in lines of traffic saw the incident. other guy ran red light  going to call him and see if he still feels fine today....Ya know how sometimes you feel nothing after accident, and it catches up to you later??? Hope the x is ok today also.He is waiting on orders for a school assignment, sure hope they don't come to soon now, while he does not have vehicle to get him there!!! I guess the Navy may have to fly him to Rhode Island ?? six weeks of class, then they tell him which college he will go to. He was accepted at Kansas State, Arizona State, and the Citadel. a panel of officers decides which one he goes to. Arizona and Kansas, have offered him wonderful scholarships  not sure what the Citadel has offered.?I am off to call, Hope Y'all have a good day, I will spend some time thinking of Dorothy, and how wonderful she is. |

| Joining all the others in making this "Dorothy's Day". Thunder, sure hope your son isn't feeling any after effects today and it is so good to know he wasn't seriously hurt. That is so scary. Jaye, love the recipe......I have a recipe for apricot tea bread (need to look for it) that is really good. Then anything with apricots is good. Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional! | Thunder, you could add more milk, and just make pancakes on the griddle! Add apricots when serving. Dear dear... thank God Sailor Boy isn't badly hurt. I'm sure he'd chose the school with the best $$$. I think Dorothy would be chuckling at this. Seeing Jean here reminded me of that rare tornado incident that hit Breaux Bridge, La. (yes, where I used to live) a few days ago. Ex said the worst hit was on an old club called "La Pouissiere". We used to "chank-a-chank" and "zydeco" there on weekends. La Pouissiere means The Dust. That tornado lifted off the roof of La Pouissiere.. and left it to dust!!! Perhaps it knows with my disability.. I won't be doing any dancing when I visit my old haunts!!  |
