LK, I can't get hold of Harris' family. I'm sure he's okay. No news is good news.
Wow Jean!! Thank you!! Despite what the youth said about Keith Frank, Clifton's still king.
He used to perform for the B.B. crawfish festivals. Love him along with the late Beau Jacques, Rockin' Dopsie..
Yes, back then the festivals were celebrated in the streets with so many stages set up for different bands.
But as of the late 90s, the regular one was held in the park to control the crowds. I love the black festival section though.. which was quite close to the National Guards building. Much more fun there!
"Me partir ton Pont Breaux, pour le remasser du gumbo "
I'm going to your Breaux Bridge, to pick up some gumbo :lol
That's the Cajun culture for you.. good food..good music part of joie de vive!
AND, knowing Zydeco, famous for sexual inuendos, I'm sure gumbo wasn't what Clifton had in mind!!
That article is priceless Jean.Yes these sistahs here "will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end."
oh my gosh... just watched the Zydeco video.. looks like such fun!! Jaye, if we ever get together, you MUST teach me how to dance! But I must warn you, you'd be startin' from scratch, since I never learned to dance anything in my entire life....with the exception of a few line dances in a bar..LOL
Now I suppose I'll have a music library of this too... now THAT"S good quiltin' music!!!

Lucy, tell your mama that your Aunt Jaye took a great risk when she mentioned this site on DG!
Sorry Sue.. didn't know that you didn't know. Thought you couldn't take double doses of us sistahs in a day!!
You're here now. Just in time to make a toast to Dorothy with her favorite drink. Mojitos of course.
"Here's to you Sistah Dorothy. We'll never forget your unselfish love for Marti, your brand of humor and your zest for living healthy.
We know you'll be waiting for us with a tray of Mojitos, at the other end. There, we'll be reunited."
She will be missed dearly! I know Mary and family will miss her, but I think we are all happy she is not suffering anymore. I can't wait to meet her at those pearly gates. Dorothy, you were a great asset to these threads, and will be missed dearly!

Would it be appropriate if I mentioned her passing in the Spotlight Words article for tonight? There is no other place here to do that and I'll find a quote that might be OK. She kept up with all the articles and anything that came from Spotlight, so let me know how y'all feel about my posting it with the weekly Words post.

Sharon, I was just thinking of you!!! God led you here for our sistah Dorothy.
Please, we would appreciate it very much if she's featured in Spotlight.
Barb!!! The only Melody I know that takes care of things as such is on DG!!
Jaye, thanks so much. I had a lot of contact with her over the years, the KY connection, sewing, gourds and especially recently with her writing. I felt I'd gotten to know her and Marti pretty well. But I sure didn't know she was so sick this time.
I'll dedicate this week's spotlight feature to her and to y'all.
Thank you.
My heart hurts too.
