NC governor, only 2 weeks in office, gave his staff an 8% raise. When the Carolinians started petitioning, he decided to give the state employees a 1 and a half percent raise, after a four year freeze. BUT, last month, he increased the state's income tax to another 2 %.
On top of that, him and his cabinet refused Federal grants to help with medicare costs, (while other Republican governors accepted) and yes, they'd be cutting programs to help with food for the poor kids and the elderly too.
Latest fiasco is they'd cut the weeks of unemployment pay too.
Even though I didn't vote for him, Kel and his family did.. I couldn't gloat, when I think of those hungry kids and elderly affected. As for Kel's parents.. Kel knows he has to chip in now towards their medical expenses. So, this affect me too.
Okay off my box. Rainy Tuesday here. Kel is a very happy man, as once again, planting the maples is postponed

My soldier boy has been sent out on an unscheduled mission....could be away for 2 -3 weeks.....don't know what or where, and I am feeling strange.
don't know how to describe it, anxious, nervous?? more than the usual feelings I get when I know he is off to do something.... a few extra prayers for him and his group please...for a safe mission..I don't usually feel this un-easy

Thunder sweetheart.. a few minutes ago, I was on the phone with a gf who's also worrying over her son. Valid reasons, just like yours.
All I can tell her is that, he doesn't need any negative vibes right now.. and I can say the same to you.
Worries aren't productive. Smile, and BELIEVE your soldier boy will do just fine.
