Checking to see how Darwin's treatment went. Praise God, he did good.

Not here either, LK. Kel would make big bucks with his soda addiction.

We do have bottle deposits. It's a pain but it sure makes a difference in roadside clutter.

I was so sorry to read that Joyce lost her FIL last night but it truly was a blessing for him - no more suffering.

We've had CRV on aluminum, plastic, cardboard and I may have missed some. When we buy anything in a plastic bottle we are charged extra so if you just toss them in the recycling bin you are losing some money. Right now, the plastic is $1.08 a lb. and I drink a lot of Lipton green tea and bottled water. I think California started doing that to keep all bottles and cans out of landfill.

Good news, after 3 chemo treatments Darwin's PSA level went from 93 to 29.78. In one month it dropped from 79 to 29 and even the nurse I had to call to get the results from said that was amazing. Proof that prayers do help. I'm in a happier mood now. But he is getting short of breath a lot and pulmonary doctor said he has COPD. Gave him a couple more inhalers to try. Will do breathing tests on July 24th.

Just got news - Bob's been laid off from work - temporarily. Could be 1 wk, could be 1 mo. It's because those that work at the building he does are having to deal with their own flooded homes b4 they return to work. So, it's a domino effect.
Just what we need eh? My assistance will only last another 6 weeks.

oh, and the AlbertaParks reservation line for campgrounds is taking names of people who need rides to get their motorhomes, etc. and taking names of people who will give rides. I put our name down to get a ride.
The campgrounds will not be open for use in the foreseeable future, so likely not this summer, and certainly not when we go to pick up our motorhome.

That's so unfortunate Susan. Just had your RV and then mother nature decided to shorten your vacation.
My poor sistah.

Yep, 90s are too hot to do anything outside! LK, imagine those that have to labor in the sun? Poor souls.
What does the town do for the old folks with no a/c? Do you have a library where they can find refuge until closing time?

Here it rains,. rains.. and more rains. Shouldn't be complaining, even though I can't play outside, at least the rains brought down temps to tolerable mid 80s.

We had our big fireworks last night. The city puts on a big party on the city hall lawn. It starts at 6 and ends at 9 when the fireworks go off. So many people there long before 6 PM. We sit in our driveway and watch it which our neighbors do too. I took some pictures but haven't downloaded them into computer yet. Poor dogs just about went crazy. Both of them found places to hide.

Texas having hotter temps than we do here. I wish someone would send rain our way. If I had energy to get up early I would be out in the yard working before it starts getting hot.

Went to town for a bit today but couldn't even walk it was sooooo crowded. Had gyros at a fav. spot and came back home.

Very quiet 4th here. All the big celebrations are in the bigger towns and cities. We are like a hamlet here. We do have a hot air balloon festival later this month with fireworks then. One of my sons and his girlfriend came for burgers so it was a fun day.
Saw the doctor yesterday regarding the sciatica and the tingling in my toes and feet. She put me on some predisone to help with the sciatica and has diagnosed the foot thing as Morton's Neuroma. It has to do with the nerves and she thinks cortisone shots will take care of it. I see the foot doctor on the 19th... Hoping that is all that is needed. If not it means surgery to cut the nerve. Keep your fingers crossed for me please.....
