Morning.. am here.. kinda lazy this morning, but got to feed the kids and do some laundry before sleeping beauty wakes up.
There's a 30% off sale at my fav. LQS, so I might drag Kel there. Wanted and array of Kaffe Fasset fqs in my collection.
Yesterday wasn't a good day for me, Barb.. Karen.
So I stayed away. One of those days I had to work things out without giving them any thought! Sometimes it works when you don't confront them, and just allow time to 'cool' you down.
It wasn't till almost midnight I regained some sanity!!
While one god daughter would be celebrating her 21st in Tennessee..... another god daughter in Singapore will be moving to Houston!! She's such a 'colorful' character, the last time I saw her was in 1985 in Louisiana when her mum and her paid me a visit. She was 2 then, tall for her age, like her Danes dad.
She married an Aggie.. met him in Singapore.. and YES.. one more SEC family member
It would be so nice if I could move to Houston and be close to her and my extended Cambodian family.. who knows.. one day, I'll have a Texas zipcode
Yes LK.. my doctor had supported my claim with papers and he wasn't surprised I was denied. He's from South Carolina and told me that NC doesn't do things like SC. Serious.. if I were to live in SC.. there's a program that will let me have my meds for free, even some paranephelia.
I'm too honest to have a change of address.
Can't lie for money's sake.. God will provide.
That shopping cart is my walker too. It seems we all have that in common. I'm glad when I find one out in the parking lot so I don't have to walk into the store to get one. DH never goes into the grocery store with me, he would never look at prices like I do. But now when he does go into a store he heads for their motorized carts.

That motorized carts should be available at all stores.
A Big Lot at the beach offers motorized carts, while the local Big Lot doesn't have any.
I don't care for Kel pushing me in a wheelchair. He's very impatient Pegi and would rush me through the aisles!
It's been a quiet day today. Not much excitement. Looking through old family pictures..you know the kind you had to process the negatives? I can't believe how ridiculous I had looked with 70s hair style and white rimmed, pink tinted glasses!! Can't share that... don't have a scanner!!
Karen, I got your pattern. Thanks. That's a BIG tree skirt!!
Susan, how did your RV fare? Hope there's no damage to it.
Glad it's there Jaye, we like fat trees so need big skirts for them. I try to make them as close to 60" as possible. You can easily shorten at the bottom if it's too big for you. It will be approximately twice the diameter if the pattern.

Morning!
Good idea there LK. But.. I think I'll keep that hideous view to myself!!
Fat trees according to Karen... need big skirts!!
My sister uses the same white artificial tree every year. Poor child never had a real Christmas tree. Told her to spray some pine scented air freshener on that so she won't miss the scent.
What are you doing today, sistahs? I keep getting insecure with my birdhouse patterns, think I'll try another one
But first, the usual chores. Feed the zoo, check FB.. water the plants.
Then pick up my red truck that's been in the shop for a month! Everything went wrong in that old truck. Still it's cheaper to fix it then paying notes on a new one.
PLUS, I'd have to pay high taxes on it every year.
Have a great day sistahs.

Yep taxes on the plates too, Karen.
I am angry over this, as in Louisiana, you'd pay one time tax on the vehicle!
This is how the states make money, LK.
Tax us for everything!! If they could tax on the air we breathe, they would!
Glad your not living in Maryland, I heard on the news a few weeks back, that they are going to try and tax you for the amount of rain that falls in your yard! How stupid is that!

I just knew the states would com up with stupid things to tax. I always said someday they would try and tax the air we breath and it sounds like it is headed that way. I don't think people would stand taxing you for rain fall.
Tomorrow is day DH sees the oncologist. Then he has to have blood work done and Tuesday is a chemo day.. Can't seem to get myself geared to do any projects
They tax the view here in northern MI too. It's not a state thing but a local one. Actually says on my assessment.. Factor,View. The saying up here is" A view of the bay is half your pay". We aren't on the bay nor can we see it, but we can see our lake. Our house is not on the lake front parcel but we do own it also. They can't tax a house on the lake so they tax our "view"
My problem with taxing a view is this - who decides what is a view and what isn't? What is wonderful to you may be hideous to me...... I think they go too far when taxing opinions...
This is a tourist mecca, they are going to tax every little thing they can think of. They changed the National Cherry Festival from being a celebration of the harvest, to being a week long tourist trap. It was so early this year that we didn't even have any of our local grown cherries. They had to import from Washington State. Now the crops are coming in and the biggest bunch of visitors(and customers) are gone. Sock it to the farmers...again.
so, if a tree falls and you can see more of the 'view', or a neighbor clears his property line, does the assessor office send someone out to the re-value your view and up your taxes?
It's amazing what the gov'ts will come up with to pull in more of our money. No wonder Mom and Dad wouldn't let the county assessor's in the house to count rooms and closets...
You don't have to let them in but then they are free to make their own judgements. Actually we should call them in, because of the trees on the lakefront property, we really can't see much of the lake. Something tells me it wouldn't do any good.
As far as they are concerned here, waterfront is waterfront whether you have access to it or not!!! And you are taxed accordingly....They have even gone so far at one point as to consider a brook as grounds for "waterfront property'!!!! Absolutely absurd....
