Isn't the 70s the new 50s. You're as young as your mind would allow.
I'm in my 50s, but my body is stuck in the 90s.
Daylilies are blooming like crazy here. Got lots to show, but I don't have that one, Sharon! That's pretty.
Think I'll make a trip to Marietta Gardens one weekday. It's about 25 miles from home. I haven't bought anything for a few years, but since I have pocket change to spare.. I'll be in trouble!!
Trouble is I want them all!! http://www.mariettagardens.com/
Hi everyone! I have a few Stella D'Oro's blooming, but that's about it. There are some really old daylilies against the house that rarely bloom, been there for at least 13 yrs, or before Hubby and his dad moved here. I've seen a few blooms since I've been here, but no more. Plenty of green leaves, but they're in between our house and the neighbor's, get morning sun for a couple hours. Assuming they all need to be dug up and moved to a more sunny location? My Stella's are in a bed out front that gets filtered sun all day.
Wow, what a neat site, Jaye! I'll just window shop, as I wouldn't get out of there with just one... Am I looking at that correctly.... $100 for 1?

Good morning sistahs!
I'm still looking through the catalog Kathy Kiz!! Nothing over $10 though!! Faye and John are also generous with giving discounts. I know they'd remember me, even when I haven't shopped for a long time. I'm the only almond eyed, short fat Asian in this county who quilts !!
Bad thing about daylilies, there are so many breeders/growers and sometimes their blooms are so much alike though given and registered with different names.
I had one posted online and someone else had the same thing but under another name. Oh well...
Think I read somewhere about some other plants if you don't know the i.d (not brugmansia for sure) you could rename them?
I lost all the tags to my daylilies. Some I could remember, and for the ones that I can't.. I sure would rename them.. Jaye1.. Jaye2.. Jaye3.... Got 20 more to go!!
LOL, that would be easy enough, as long as you knew exactly where each one was!! I've noticed even my amaryllis look different year to year.. I made permanent labels with each pot, so I can keep track. The most trouble was the dahlia's.. each bloom was gorgeous, but varied in markings on each one! Sometimes the solid color ones would sprout out a bi-colored flower, or vice-versa.. I thought I was fun to see each one pop out, as it was a surprise every time..
Suppose you could always name the unknowns after all us Sistah's: MissM, Thunder, Silio, Kiz, Tater, etc, etc... I'd be proud to bloom all purty in your garden!

Hey that's a SWELL idea Kathy Kiz!!! As long as my sisters don't fight in the garden! I do have more than enough to rename them after my sistahs!! I'll even paint names on broken clay pots!
In fact, I had dedicated some roses to my siblings, and the funny part is, the plants that thrive happened to thrive in the honorees' real lives. Strange ain't it? So I now have to replace them with hardier easy plants like gingers or camellias so the siblings can have the same fate!
if you paint my name on a broken pot, turn it upside down for a 'toad abode'....lol We used to have tons of toads in our gardens and around our house when I was growing up. Since living in town and now the city, I can't remember when I saw a toad last! Funny how you think of stuff you miss.... must be lack of coffee.

Okay, here's one with lost tag. It's a beautiful brilliant red daylily, with fluorescent yellow throat. Since 2007, when I first planted it, Kel had been mowing it down. He said it's an annual sacrifice to the gods.
This year, he can't mow the grass, so it managed to escape death at the wheels!! It's first bloom and soooo pretty!!
Who wants to give her name to this lily?
By the way, since Kel had seen how lovely this lily is, he won't be making the same mistake again! He would place that clay marker himself.
