Home now, just tired out after all that's gone on since Thurs:
1. water shut off at campsite cuz the water was "compromised"
2. Told we wouldn't be able to leave the campground because of mudslides taking out 5 bridges on Highway 40 out of Kananaskis
3. No idea when we'd be able to leave. Got one message out to friends in Calgary, but then the phones went down, and no internet to email anyone.
4. At 10:50 Sat night told we had to be "mandatory evacuated" by helicopter - 1/2 hour to prepare 2 bags to take (one each)
5. Arrived at helicopter in parking lot, then told the pilots had used all their hours flying and couldn't be flown out until next morning. Went home and repacked with more thought. Went to sleep at 1:30 am, and woke at 6:00.
6. Waited by sde of the road to be picked up to go to Lodge and get re-registered for being flown out.
7. Nine am - picked up and taken to Lodge, arriving at 9:15am.
8. Told that people from last night, already registered, were to be first out that day and we were late........
9. Bob & I were put on two different helicopters, leaving at different times.
10 Bob arrived where I was, at helicopter pad, without his suitcase, which was left on the side of the road where helicopter picked him up.
11. Choose to wait at hanger until our luggage was brought - 1/2hr later they brought it.
12. School bus to Calgary, then Red Cross sent us home by taxi. Got home at 4:15.
13 Ordered pizza and tried to call everyone who was worried, both in Winnipeg, and Calgary.
14. Still getting calls and requests today.
Very tired......
No flooding at our home in Calgary - we're high enuff.....

Thunder - some others were saying the same thing about helicopters, and with the dogs...... some really didn't want to get on that noisy thing (let the propellers run, with the army ones).
Bob says that riding the helicopter was easier than a Carney ride at the carnival
Oh my, Susan what an adventure! Glad you got home safely.
Well, DH got his fishing trip in, but found out how dangerous it was. Took wheel chair down to lake, leaned over to pick something up and chair tipped over. What a shinner and it is looking worse as time goes on. I hope it doesn't look too bad when he sees the eye doctor next week. That didn't stop him though, between the two guys they caught 10 trout. Can you imagine the stories he tells, and I seem to get the blame for it all.

geeze - it was in our home, but I did the same thing at my computer - pen fell, I reached for it, and chair tipped over onto me. Did NOT hurt me (no shiner for me, thank u very much.......), but Bob looked over when he heard "the noise" and broke out into a hot sweat, thinking I'd really hurt myself. Didn't even get shaken up. Guess after this weekend nothing was gonna phase me.......... except too many people and noise of children around me....... I was really surprised about that - yesterday at the store there were 2 families, and I passed by each of them, with screaming kids and it made me start to get all upset....... and crying..... geeze!!!
The shiner is really looking bad. He did tell everyone who would listen to him how he got it. Usually fishermen love to tell about the big one that got away. As he was fighting that big one the tail came around and hit him in the face, thus that big shiner. Oh well, we all laughed about it. BTW, DH is feeling so much better, now to work those legs and hope the weakness goes away. He did have another chemo treatment today, hoping he won't get sick from it.

Good morning sistahs! God knows we been missing our Susan!
I'm ashame to say that Kel HAD to be taught how to react when I fall, Susan. Unlike Bob, he'd be screaming in an accusatory tone "What happen?".. as though I do it intentionally. Learnt that from his mum.
Even when I broke my leg
Pegi that was more than a shiner! Poor man. No make up artist can replicate that!
Well now he'll have some evidence that Pegi ain't that sweet woman everyone's thinking
Praying he'd have a good chemo treatment today.
Years ago, Todd had a cyst on his back that had to be removed, and he went to work, and told everyone I stabbed him in the back with a steak knife! I told him if he says that again, I would really stab him!

Is that a man thing telling everyone how mean we are? Chemo treatment went well, and so far he is feeling fine. It takes so long to get PSA results, I keep checking web site looking for it. We are hoping the level drops again. Was going to take my plastic bottles in to get cash back, but it is just too hot to do anything. At least that gives me a little more time to collect the stray bottles laying around. Next time they have a coupon in the paper we will go, at least that is the plan. Our plans seem to change quite often.
Couldn't seem to get into the other building to check the RW&B swap so will have to try later on today.
