| Bob - he has High Cholesterol. Blood pressure, sugar, etc, all fine, otherwise. Test on Tues, and Dr called at 1:30 for a 2:00 app't, so we went right away. Showed up 10 min early and Dr. saw him right away. He's not a smoker or drinker, but they say his LDL in his bloodstream & liver. "At risk", so needs to make a lifestyle change. More exercise (he's 63 years old, 6'3" and 170 lbs, so he's really very fit), less red meat, no crackers & cheese for evening snack, no cookies. He has porridge or Cheerios for breakfast every day. I really don't know where all the cholesterol comes from, but we'll have to watch. Mom - my daughter, Michelle, had a lovely surprise yesterday when she visited my mom and saw Grandma in a wheelchair at the nurses' station, feeding herself lunch! She really (desperately) wanted out of bed, but obviously needed assistance. And the aide couldn't stay with mom for an hour until she ate all her meal, so this was a good option. I'm sure Mom is happy to have gotten out of bed. We've given up the semi-care apartment. |

| Sorry I've not been on. I've been not at my healthiest best lately and I apologize for my disappearance. I'm happy to read that your mum Susan, is feeding herself! That's a piece of welcomed news. May Bob stick to his diet. All in moderation, is the key I've been told. So I presume you'd be checking the labels closely? Susan, after a few views of Dr. Oz, Kel decided to do something with his belly fat and eat less pizza and cheese. Want to tell my sisters here who don't go to the other site a new experience for us. Trying to cheer me up last night Kel asked if I wanted anything from eBay. So, I told him I'd be interested in acquiring a new jelly roll. With his Android, he navigate through the lists and I found something wanted. There were 5 bids already, and I told him to key in 19.26. Kel placed the bid for 1926!! He had forgot the decimal point!! There's no such thing as confirmation if not used on a pc!!! So for 2 hours, the poor man was so worried that he'd be paying for the most expensive jelly roll ever!! He was already writing scenarios in his head if that's the case. I was calm, as I know it won't go further than 40 and that it's not a piece of art where buyers can go crazy! He slept easy last night when he won it for $31. It has 60 pieces of Asian print. Though I really want it for under 20, it's much better than 1,926 right? Got to get better so I can do all the buying :D There was a Kate Spade jelly roll that went for 77 dollars!!   |

| I like to play on Ebay, I've gotten very good at sniping(bidding in the last few seconds so no one has time to bid after me). I forgot the decimal when paying my cell phone bill through my Bill Pay option at my bank. Now in the first place, I didn't begin to have that much in my account, but don't you know they paid it anyhow and then charged me for an over draft. I realized what I had done right away and called the cell phone co. and my bank to no avail. The bank says they are required by law to pay the amount I put in whether I have it or not. (pretty dumb if you ask me). The phone company on the other hand didn't return my money for two weeks. Thank goodness one of my kids was able to give me an emergency transfer until it was settled. To top it off the phone co. then returned the entire amount and charged me a late fee for not making my payment. Believe me I'm very careful of my decimals and double check every payment before I finalize it. |

| Call the phone co. again! They should not have done that! You DID pay your bill in earnest, and it wasn't insufficient!! |

| I argued and argued with them Audrey. Did me no good. It was a few years ago now. I did just win one with them though. I had called to change my plan so our bill was lowered in Nov. The bill I got was still high so I called again and got a very nice person who made sure it was lowered and gave me a nice credit too. I'll still be watching them though. |

| Oooh sorry the missing decimal point got you in trouble Karen. At least one service person is willing to help you. Kel said he'd be kissing that jelly roll when it gets here!  Yes, it's futile to fight with phone company especially when it's a monopoly. Kel had bundled the 'net, phone and cable company as the phone company promised a substantial savings (I had objected to the plan)... but.. each month we see a new charge. From 145 for the first few months, and now a hefty 205. Kel's been calling them up and finally gave up realizing there is no other phone service here. Audrey, we will see 14 tomorrow  |

| Wal*Mart has a phone system for $99.00 that plugs into your wall, (not phone system) and pay $16.75 per month. You get unlimited long distance in the U.S. It's with Straight Talk, I think. I have it and I love it! You use your own phones with it. 15* now, down to 6* before morning! |

| We are lucky that our phone bill is low, thanks to low income and age. I'm forever getting letters from them for Fios which I don't want. I'd be paying more for my phone that way. Always after us to buy something extra it seems. My friend said her computer took a crap. She went to Staples and they waned $70 just to look at it and then would tell her how much to fix. She decided to buy new laptop instead and one of the techs set up her programs for her for nothing, another one of the techs wanted $99. Tlhe Windows Services called her and she hung up on them. Guy at Staples said he probably blocked her computer. I know this can be done because my niece had hers messed up by an ungrateful brother. He has mental problems and just felt so mean at that time. Maybe knowing too much can be a dangerious thing. LOL Life is fragile, handle with prayer. |

| Dell did that to me, till I told them I wasn't going to buy another Dell, because I knew what they were doing! After that, I had no problems! |

| Finally my internet's fixed.. touch wood!! I've been struggling with very slow internet or getting kicked off when I tried to post. It's so frustrating. Well for months Kel had been reporting this, and for 2 months only we were compensated. Kel had been throwing temper tantrums since he got his Android and big boy finally showed his frustrations to the phone company last night. Guess what.. they sent the senior technician to our home today.. without warning!!! If Kel's not home, he'd never get in. I don't trust strangers. The tech was shocked to see so many cats and he said.. "Oh you got cats"! Then he checked the wires and had to admit they weren't damaged. He went outside to check the service boxes.. and found they're aren't damaged neither. He did a speed test on our pc and can't understand why we're getting 1mbps and not the 5mbps we've been paying for. He told us he'd have to fix it from the main office. Our phone was disabled for an hour for them to do so. Finally.. it's restored! You can bet that Kel will demand compensation and that overcharge to be fixed. Phone company had insulted us by sending a senior tech unannounced trying to put the blame on us. |
