| Just came home from my neighbour's for coffee. She gave me a scarf that she knitted in one evening. The "wool" comes on a ball, like regular wool, BUT instead of strands, it looks like a wide lace (very open-work and about 5" wide)) and she "picks up" every 2nd strand on the outside of the openwork. .After 6 stitches, missing every 2nd one, she does something else... and keeps going until it's finished. They are available in variegated or single colour. Mine is shades of white, grey, and black. Very nice! The skeins of wool are from $6 to $8 each. Available at WalMart apparently... |
