Hey Ric think you could do my ENTIRE property into one of those pictured above with a automated roof to let rain in and instead of chicken wire use greenhouse material ?????? I could let the rain in and the animals and insects out. Get a temp and humidity controlled set up and I've be set year round.............

Had to go get some more Miracle grow so stopped at Steins. Ended up getting two hardy hibiscus and a hanging strawberry basket. I'm so easy in that place, they (the plants) look at me with sorrowful looks and I take them home and give them the water and the miracle gro they need.

Here's the strawberry basket. Has ripe fruit, not so ripe fruit, almost ripe fruit and flowers on it. All for 9.99 a hanging basket.

Okay Cherie, you are always using the latin names of your flowers and I haven't a clue what flowers they are! Those red and pink ones are pretty.

BTW if you haven't noticed yet, they changed the way you can put multiple photos in one post and it's easier now. After you do the normal process to upload one photo, you can click to do it again and again. Not sure if there is a limit or not but I just did 4 in one post on my photo thread.

Oh Sheri, it wasn't in any way intended as a personal attack, just humor like that which the world lacks, welcome in so many other forums: perhaps you just wish keep this group limited to a few who suit you. I came here because I was interested in meeting others from Wisconsin and, given c-mails, some have been interested in meeting me as well. I have contact too, with others who have peeked in and determined this forum to be unwelcoming. I hate to see our wonderful state represented that way but since that seems to be your wish I am simply sorry.

Jamie, you have got me all wrong. I am open to new people and to humor. You may not have intended for the comment to be condescending, but I think if you were to look at it objectively, you could see how it could be taken that way. Humor is wonderful, but not at the expense of others.

This is not "MY" cubit. It is a cubit for everyone. People from all around the world and in all walks of life. I didn't even start the cubit, I just happen to be the one who "inherited" it when the original person felt she couldn't keep up with it. I do not want for this thread to turn unpleasant so I will ask that if there is anymore you feel you need to discus, could you please do it in a cmail. I will be happy to reply to any concerns you may have in a private communication.

Now ladies, please.......

Sherie they are just Hardy hibiscus unlike the tropical these can stay outside all winter........

The brandywine and Pinot I planted last fall and they are blooming wonderfully. "Am hoping such will be the case with Luna's Red and pink swirl and Stardust. ..............I am desperately trying to cut down on the amount of plants I take in every fall. We just don't have the room inside to put them and Ed refuses to hear the sun room any more.......

So far I will only be bringing in the Brugmansia and the Elephant Ears.............

I should have guessed that Cherie! I actually bought a hardy hibiscus myself a couple of weeks ago! So far it hasn't gotten any new flowres on it other than the few it had when I bought it, but it does have several buds. I'm sure hoping it does good for me.

Okay the 1,000.00 question: Which one did you get? If it is planted where it will get full sun hopefully on the south side, once it freezes, mulch it with a couple inches of leaves. Don't cut it back till you see new growth and know it can be slow to show signs of life in the spring. I have two others that I've had for about 4 years now and nobody told me about how slow they are to show life..........Sometimes they will die to the ground well more oft than not but they come back up at the crown and grow gang busters............My original two have loads of buds but most haven't opened yet. Last year and the year before JB's got all the buds and flowers but so far so good on that front. You know the blooms only last about a day sometimes almost two but there is usually lots of buds so it seems as though they last longer.

Hope your works for you as well as they have for me. Now these two I bought today say they are only hardy to zone 5 so I'm a little leery........They will get mulched BIG time this fall.
