I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm trying to tackle a few things around the house and just taking a break for a bit.

Tomorrow will be rough only because I have to be there at 7AM....lol!
But I'm generally an early riser so no real big deal.
And we have a Plant Meeting so the first hour is in the bag.
Then the HR stuff so....... ;-)

Got a few things done the last 4 days that take two to complete.
The good news about the layoff was that we got about 4 years of weekend projects completed.
Now we can sit back and really enjoy the weekends instead of busting our humps.
We're thinking of having a few garden tour members over to critique the yard.
Time for a tough unbiased look to be taken.

Here's our new baby in the center.
Not quite sure which EE it is yet but the dark color sure pops!

1/2 of the 7' long mirror we took out of my Sister's house.
The shelf we bought for 2 dollars at a garage sale......

THANKS!
I think my alarm clock will need it more than me!

I'll probably head up around 10PM and read a bit.
I got up at 7AM this morning after racking out at around 2:30AM....
so sleep shouldn't be hard to come by....

Did I mention it's a climate controlled building?
THAT will be hard to get used to again.
But welcome as we'll be in the mid upper 90's all week.

Why do people call it a "stint"?

A stent is a wire metal mesh tube used to prop open an artery during angioplasty. The stent is collapsed to a small diameter and put over a balloon catheter. It's then moved into the area of the blockage. When the balloon is inflated, the stent expands, locks in place and forms a scaffold. This holds the artery open. The stent stays in the artery permanently, holds it open, improves blood flow to the heart muscle and relieves symptoms (usually chest pain). Within a few weeks of the time the stent was placed, the inside lining of the artery (the endothelium) grows over the metal surface of the stent.

It's best to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

I suppose because some people are not top notch scholars nor do they worry about such things. Personally, if spell check doesn't catch it, and it won't if you use the wrong word but spell it correctly, I am sure I have many errors in my writings. I sure hope no one is being critical of me.

That is very good info Mary and I am glad she shared her experience.

It is very cloudy out but so far no rain.

I got a call from my eldest DGS last night. He asked if he could come today and spend the night. Of course I said yes. I'm sure we will have a nice visit.

My opinion? During general chit-chat, I try not to be too critical. As long as you can get your point across, no worries!

But remember, this was an article. It is supposed to be researched and 'scholarly' - and can (and should) therefore be held to higher standards.

True enough except that the stint was in the womans daily postings/updates. It was a direct quote. Personally I wouldn't edit a direct quote for an article. That's just me I guess.

When quoting someone, and the original text is misspelled, it is proper to add the "[sic]" notation. In addition, further down in the article, where the text is italicized (and not a direct quote) the word is also misspelled.

Enough of that.

So how is everyone's day going? I managed to get very little done this weekend. I slept in, and watched a bunch of 'B' grade movies on the SciFi channel.

I got the three hanging baskets, I got 3 plants at Menards, 2 purple liatris and A rudbeckia Sonara, I managed to do absolutely nothing yesterday. and so far today have avoided anything that might even resemble a chore or work. So my day is going good I guess.

After watering the vegie garden and pulling weeds as I went along, I erected some shades for the blueberry bushes from some old window screens. Ugly, but I can see that they do make the sun less intense. We planted them about 2 years ago and they are struggling. One of the 4 died, not sure if it was critters eating the roots, a ph problem, not enough water, too much sun, winter kill or ? One bush has a few little berries on it.

It's fire season, smoke blew in from somewhere north of us and brought it yesterday. Pretty sunset last night, can't see any mountains today although they are on 3 sides of us.

Oops, I just remembered that my laundry is still in the washer and should be on the line. It still has time to dry, thanks to low humidity and a little breeze.

The first day went much better than I thought it would.
The issue I had before was not enough work and it got VERY boring late in the day.
(Plus I was just burned out.)
Well the guy I'm replacing wasn't doing squat.
So I spent the whole day playing catch up.
I was work friends w/ many of the people there so that part was really nice.
Most didn't know I was coming back and it was fun to see the looks on their faces.
Two went up to Jon (our neighbor and the Plant Manager) and said I'd done work that hadn't been touched in a year.

We just got back from celebrating his 50th Birthday and other than the compliments he said nothing about work. So......

Bit Tough getting up this morning....
Tougher working in Climate Control and coming home to real weather! LOL!
