Yep same w/ the Recipes.
We went to my Family's Christmas Dinner yesterday.
Several people wanted the recipes for things we brought,
two didn't have computers.
I downloaded them to my Sister's 'puter and she printed them out.

My daughter is amazed at some of this stuff. Not that it can be done...but that her old mother is doing it. Thumbs up

Merry Christmas everyone.

My husband and son are still asleep, but I got a Christmas present from my son- Fall of Giants by Ken Follett. I've been wanting to read that series, I really like Follett.

DH and I are both on kindle fire hds now. He has the large one and loves it. I think it is a little too big for reading, but better for internet and games and photos.
He has big hands and has no problem.

Not sure if everyone has noticed, but on Amazon now, when you go into top 100 books, and go to top 100 free, you can select a category from the left and get the top 100 of that category.

Visit often and you can find top authors that maybe have a new book coming out and they will place a previous book for free, or other short term specials.

I have found many enjoyable free books there.

Oh, forgot to add. If upgrading you kindle, what do you do with the old one?

I still had the boxes, a nice cover and cords....I posted them on eBay. We got a really good price. We got about a 65% return on what we paid new. I was good with that.

That's good.

I get my books from the local library. They have a good selection of both print and paper books and ebooks. Easy and free. Big Grin Our library is well supported by taxes, and I take advantage of what I pay for. It's a big library, now with 500,000 card holders.

I usually only get the free books from Amazon.

One question, if my iPad croaks and I get a Kindle Fire HD, will everything on my iTunes list transfer to the Kindle Fire? Or doesn't it "do" music?

It does music fine, but I don't think it likes iTunes. Not sure how to download from that site. I had a iTunes gift card and gave it away.

Kindles do not support Apple stuff. You announced candy crush for kindle. I think that may have been a good thing. Ha.

You can do thousands of free games and gems like cut the rope, or angry birds or scrabble with friends.

Kindle has a camera, but no GPS.

I do most of my email, web browsing, and of course reading on kindle.

I recommend going to settings and choosing sepia background for reading. The bright white was too hard on the eyes.

Good deal on selling your old kindle, Christine!

Amazon also has a Gold Box Deal of the day, and a deal that comes up every hour.
They also have Kindle deals daily, http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=pe_170810_30106290_pe_button/?docId=1000677541 books in 4 different categories. I've gotten a few off there, but like Karen, I get most of mine from the e-library.

AnnaZ, Amazon will copy your iTunes music to their cloud. From there you can listen or download it to your Fire. Not at all hard to do.

Just got a used Nook 7" Color..... $75 and that includes an 8GB Micro Memory Card.
When the original purchaser got the Nook was over 200 dollars and the 8GB Card was $50.00!
Have a 16 GB card coming from Amazon tomorrow.
They less than a Buck a GB now!

So far, after 2 hours....lol!, I am VERY impressed.
Won't be using it much for reading except for ID Field Guides when I'm shooting bugs and birds.
Originally I was looking to get a tablet to store and show off photos instead of hauling a laptop around.
The photo quality and detail is amazing!

But I can see using it as a Browser as I get more comfortable w/ the format.
Plus I can set up a bunch of Apps by Rooting it w/ an Android Card.
It basically becomes a Droid....

Nice to have the card feature. If my kindle hd had that, I could be sharing my vacation photos right now!

Good deal Ric!!!!

It's working out pretty well.
The chip was 4 GB though so.... lol!
Still I added 425 photos averaging about 4,000 KBs to the card and have 2.5 GB left.
It's the old small unit so it only has 2 GB on board.

I added a few Field Guides I have been wanting.
One on Caterpillars and one on Dragonflies on Nook Book.
Dragonflies and Damselflies of the East is $16.49 and I have seen it at the Nature Center for $29.95.
Caterpillars of Eastern North America: A Guide to Identification and Natural History same deal.
Plus a bunch of PDF Guides I have downloaded over the years.
This allowed me to ID new, to me, Dragon yesterday.
Then I cropped and edited it in the camera and emailed it to a Friend.
Once I got in WiFi range it sent it off........
He called me about 3 minutes later to verify he got the shot.
So I am quite happy at this point.
Nice thing too is it just small enough to fit in my waist pack!

What a great new tool for you. I am excited about the field guides. Should make searching even easier for you.

I have a WiFi sd card. Loads directly to your cloud so that you can access it anywhere without downloading. I haven't set it up yet, but that is how it works.

My 16DB Micro Card was in the mailbox when I got home from a Family Reunion.
I transferred the 4GB info over and it works Great in the Nook!

Then I put the old 4GB in it's adapter and ran it in my Camera.... seamless!
Which means I can use the Nook in the field for editing by moving that card directly to the Nook.

The Field Guides are a great plus and were the main reason, well other than sharing views of pics, that I wanted a Color Tablet....
Can't wait until more are available!
