Ripped this from FB... sounded like fun. Big Grin

It's national book week. The rules are, grab the closest book to you, turn to page 52, and post the first sentence. Don't mention the title.

"Finally, perhaps, there was a reenactment of the vision that Joshua experienced after the Israelite army had set out from Gilgal."

Your turn! Thumbs up

There's something oddly complimentary about those two lines... Blinking

Mine is: "That might mean she was busy gossiping - or laying out a spell to do some favor for her cronies - or it might mean she simply wasn't hearing." I LUV the out of context thing. Sends you wondering Smiling Whose next Ears perked up!

Great idea!

That book was an inch closer than this:

A turning shape has movement following right through, even though the creature is still.

It's all about choices.
Words containing more than one vowel or diphthong (i.e. two vowels pronounced as one, e.g. ae, au, ei, eu, oe, ui) are divided into syllables.

BORING... was the closest book. page 52. Yawn. I like y'alls libraries more....
Leap. The net will appear.

"( In diesel engines there is a GLOW PLUG, which heats up the cylinder so that the fuel can be vaporized and ignited...)

Actually it is a very funny book!

Okay I cheated a little; the very closest "book" said: "You must include the rest of your pension in your income."

Was that really a book or a manual? 'Cause I'm pretty sure manuals don't count.... unless you want them to. Hilarious!

I like the out of context thing too, as well as the juxtaposition of odd things... not to mention the little factoids... Hurray!

I think they meant the first complete sentence, tho' that's certainly an interesting juxtaposition w/including all your pension in your income. Hilarious!

Then the handmaidens came near, they and their children, and they bowed themselves.

What a variety of interesting things Smiling I'm particularly interested in the 'dipthong' Hilarious!
Right now my page 52 says:
"Subject to subsection 105(2), documents that, on the day before the coming into force of this Part, were registerred pusuant to section 80, as that section existed on the day before the coming into force of the Part, are deemed to be registered pursuant to this Part"

Which is why methinks the girl in the other book "returned holding two glasses full to the brim with clear liquid, no ice." Rolling on the floor laughing
