Audible.com is running a promotion where you sign up for 14 days for free - you get one credit, which enables you to buy one audio book. After that there's a monthly charge, you can cancel or pay 14.95 a month. It only makes sense if you buy books anyway. For my one free book, I got The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - I have wanted to read it but wasn't sure if I'd like it - everyone I know who has says it's terrific.

They do have a "paperback" sale going on right now (over 400 titles) for 5.95 or 8.95 apiece. Some are classics, some contemporary, lots of mystery and novels.
