Horticultural Entries at the SEFS 2011-Have you ever thought about entering some Horticulture in the Southeastern Flower Show? Now is the time to start planning. Plants must be in your possession by November 26, 2010. If you are planting winter flowering or fruiting shrubs this year (maybe a new camellia) then you may have a great specimen to enter. Have a begonia or African violet or ivy plant that you think is just super? Enter it in the Horticulture Division. This year we have added a class for Herbs. We have also added a class for propagated plants, things that may have been passed down to you by friends or family from seed or cutting that you have nurtured. Share it with us and you may even win a blue ribbon! Interested in forcing bulbs? We have a forcing schedule for the bulbs so they are blooming in late February. The bulbs need to be started in November or early December. Contact Chris Adams at [email protected] to get a copy of the forcing schedule and forcing instructions. The 2011 Southeastern Flower Show will be held February 25-27, 2011 at the Cobb Galleria. Chris Adams and Kathy Mullen are the co-chairs of the Horticulture Division. We have many NFMG members on the Horticulture Committee. We would love to have your participation as an exhibitor. For details on what plants to enter and how to enter your plants, go to http://www.sehort.org, click on the Flower Show menu and choose Exhibitor Guide to download a PDF copy of the Exhibitor Guide. Hope to see you at the 2011 Southeastern Flower Show!

"The most serious gardening I do would seem very strange to an onlooker, for it involves hours of walking round in circles,
apparently doing nothing. What I'm doing is forcing myself to evaluate certain areas....
Only during these quiet moments does a good idea suddenly occur."
~ Helen Dillon, Irish garden writer
