I don't know about you Laura, But for me, the vines going off in all directions is part of the attraction to hoyas. I like plants that look wild and untamed. I'v seen people cut them into neater shapes and lots of people train them around supports to keep them looking neat, but I like to let mine climb/hang untamed where ever they want to go. I think that's also why I like orchids (well except for phals witch grow too neatly and compactly for me) The tangle of visible roots, plus the leafless back bulbs, and the way new growth likes to climb out of the pots...They just look like they're screaming "I'll never grow where you want me too" Hilarious!
