With all of the fun chatting available, both here on cubits and on the web in general, I wanted to create a quiet cubit where the word of God partnered with an image that would help us lock the daily verse in our hearts. A place we could come before the Lord for a few moments each day and not be concerned with posting but only with knowing God better. Welcome to my cubit.....I hope you will be encouraged.
One of my favorite verses in the Bible is Proverbs 3:5-6 which is an incredible source of strength to me.
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"
For many years I loved this verse but in 2005 when I found myself traveling through an unwanted divorce, I clung to it like glue. I memorized it, wrote it everywhere and developed and taught a 4 week Bible Study centered on it. As I was teaching, I learned that others liked the way I brought visual "props" into the study. As an artist, I see the world as a constant reminder of God's presence, and so, a heart reminds me to trust God. Dominoes remind me not to lean on my own understanding since it topples over easily. Paths are a reminder that IF I acknowledge Him, He will be the foundation for me to stand on. God has used this verse to guide me through a surprise journey and into a new plan for my life. A place where I have found blissful contentment and sweet rest.
99% of the time I plan the next days verse the evening before or early in the morning. Sometimes I will see a photo that reminds me of a verse and I will link them together. I also have a facebook page by the same name but there is posting allowed there so join me there too. Many days I will hear from people here, and on FB, that the verse was exactly what they needed that day! What a great encouragement!
If you would like to share photos or art with me, lets chat privately. I have several wonderful photographers and artists that are sharing their beautiful work with me and I am always happy to have more.
I hope the verses speak to you and the images mean as much to you as they do to me. Please contact me if I can help you trust the God who loves us all.
