Even in the smallest apartment, you can grow a windowsill pot of basil or chives. Tell us about your herb gardens and post any herb-related questions here.

I grow all of my herbs in pots and planters on my deck & patio. I used to have a big herb pot garden out in the yard. But it's usually dark when I'm cooking and I got tired of going outside wearing my headlamp and carrying a basket & shears to get them. I mix a few ornamentals in the pots and planters with the herbs.

I am able to harvest parsley, mint & most sages for about 10 months of the year. Last year I brought some of the more tender herbs indoors to see how they would do, but lost them all in my house fire.

Bit, here is a great herb database that I found from THe Herb Companion. It's different from other herb databases in that it gives a complete article on each herb.

Thanks Stormy!

I think the site is having technical difficulties right now, but I'll be sure to check it out later.
