|I have a nice sized flock of mixed chickens. I actually have more chckens than I need or want and would like to downsize. The chickens I want to keep or the chicks I have in the brooder bins right now. They won't be laying for a while yet so I will keep the rest until then. I have 6 Golden Comet chicks and 6 EEs. The Golden Comets are a sex link hybrid, meaning they are able to be told apart ( pullets from roos ) at hatching. They lay a very large brown egg. The EE ( Easter eggers ) are chickens that lay blue or green eggs. All mine are pullets. I already have a big EE roo I call Gumbo. The Golden Comets are only for eggs for eating. Being a hybrid they won't breed true so I won't hatch any of their eggs.
This big egg is from my Golden Comet hen. This egg is sitting in a "large" carton and the other eggs are "large" eggs. That egg is a bit bigger than she normally lays but her eggs are always way bigger than the other hens.
