If they have the papery shell, it's probably Physalis. That's the only one that says it's called Poha in any case. Only having one might have been your problem. It must've been pollinated that once from a neighbor's male plant (possibly an ornamental kiwi vine, which are usually male), but kiwis won't produce fruit without a separate male pollinator. I can't wait for mine to start fruiting. It took longer than I expected for them to get over the transplant shock, but they've put out a few vines now. Of course, as soon as it started growing the hurricane took out one of my trellises, so one of the plants has nothing to climb. I'll get it straightened out soon enough and I'm just glad the plant itself wasn't damaged. |
