|We have lots of Red-bellied and Downy WP's that nest in the neighborhood. They are here year round and always at the suet feeders or the regular feeders when I put raisins and berries in them.
Last year a pair of Downy's chipped a nest cavity in a camphor tree in a corner of the backyard where I sit on my bench a lot. The female didn't seem fazed by my presence but the male would peep and chatter at me every time I was out there, he did not like me being in that part of the yard at all. After the babies fledged the nest it was so much fun watching them clinging to the trees, screeching for their parents to feed them!
