Here is the heidi forum.

For those who don't know her, Heidi is a very special raccoon who frequents my backyard wildlife buffet. For 4yrs now I've been feeding and observing Heidi and friends, raccoons and the occasional opossum who visit my backyard buffet and writing a journal of their antics.

The raccoons are most active at the buffet in spring and summer, when the new moms are ravenously hungry. When they arrive, probably in late Feb or early March, I will be back to discuss their 2010 adventures. I hope you will join me.

This year, for a change, I'm going to try really hard to keep on topic. For that reason, I'll be starting another Cubits specifically for events and banter from my personal life, stuff not directly related to Heidi and the other raccoons.

I'm eagerly awaiting Heidi's arrival. I read about the racoon in your cat trap. Will be interesting to see if he becomes the main male this year.

I think it's just a few weeks until they start coming back to the buffet... end of Feb, if i recall correctly.

Hi Susan, Hi Terese!

I'm looking forward to seeing the raccoons again, too. Seeing that one that got in the trap recently just made me want them back all the more. I think the end of Feb is about right for their return. It shouldn't be long now!

Hi Susan (9kittymom),

I need to make some quick decisions on this. I'll get back to you with an answer very soon. I can understand your concern about this.

I did just post some kitten pics and a brief update on the other site. I'll probably be posting them here, too - while I'm deciding on the answer to your question. Still I thought I would mention this in case you want to see them sooner.

Hi Marylyn!

It is getting time for Heidi and the others to return - esp since I had that one raccoon at the front door last night.

I've been considering moving Heidi out of the Wildlife Cubit into her own cubit. I was thinking I could make photo album forums for each of the main characters. That would make it much easier for us to keep track of the characters and find their photos later.

If Heidi had her own cubit, it might also make it easier for people to find her - and me.

I'm very glad that you went looking around and found us! Hurray!

Hi goldfinch,

I'm still working on that decision.
I'll definitely post it though - when it eventually comes to me. (Lately, things at work have been keeping me busy and exhausted, but I'll get there in time.)

Hi Terese,

Um, about those colors, are you sure it wasn't Cheryl redecorating the cubit? I changed the Wildlife banner and colors, moved the sofa and end tables, painted the walls...
If you are referring to changes in the colors and/or banner in the Wildlife cubit, that was me.
Or were you referring to the cubits.org "Home" screen? Dave changes that from time to time. Not sure how long the current one has been up, but I really like that one, both the graphic and the color palette.

I need to get out back to check on the raccoons. It has just been so wet and soggy here. I was hoping it would maybe stop raining for a day or 2 so I could get back there without swimming. Now I hear it may snow again tomorrow - and I wore a thin, short sleeve shirt all day today with no jacket. Is that crazy, or what? Anyhow, I need to get back there to the buffet soon even if I have to go by boat. You are right. I definitely don't want the raccoons to start thinking the buffet has been moved to the front door.

I actually think Gladys may have seen the raccoon but wasn't sure what it was in the dark and ultimately convinced herself that the kittens had confused her by moving back and forth through the shrubs. Whew! Dodged that bullet.
