Recipe Title: Caramel Apple Cider Crumble

Contributed by: gypsiegirl

List of Ingredients
• 7 whole Medium Green Apples
• 20 pieces Caramel
• ½ cans Evaporated Milk
• 3 cups Rolled Oats
• 1 cup Brown Sugar
• 1 cup White Sugar
• ¾ cups Flour
• 1 package Spiced Cider
• ¾ cups Butter, Cubed
• 1 dash Cinnamon
• 1 dash Nutmeg
• 1 dash Salt

Preparation
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 20 caramels and 1/2 can of evaporated milk. Stir every 15 seconds until completely blended. It should be very liquid-y. This can also be done with a double boiler on the stove top.
Peel and chop all seven apples; set aside.
Mix together rolled oats, brown sugar, white sugar, flour, package of cider and butter. I do this with my fingers until it is crumbly.
Press half of the rolled oat mixture onto a 9×12 pan (or whatever you have that is closest to that size). Layer apples on top of that. Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Pour caramel mixture over the top. Spread the rest of the rolled oat mixture over the caramel.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes until apples are soft.

I made this last week using Granny Smith apples. If I had used twice as many apples, it would have been perfect. More tart apples would have balanced off the sweetness.

Also didn't think the cider spices were necessary; it gave it a peculiar flavor.

I will make this again with above noted alterations.
